How it works & privacy

What the bot does. When meter@themeetingmeter.com is added as a guest to a calendar event, it accepts the invitation and, if the event has a video-call link, joins the call as a visible participant named "The Meeting Meter". Its camera displays a running fare. When the call ends, it emails a summary ("receipt") to the event organizer.

What it does not do. The bot does not record audio or video, does not transcribe conversations, and does not store the content of meetings. It joins with recording disabled.

Data used. To operate, the service processes the calendar event's title, start and end times, guest count, and the organizer's email address (used only to send the receipt). Aggregate, anonymous totals — total dollars, meetings, and minutes metered — are displayed on this page. No names, companies, or meeting details are published.

Billing. No real money changes hands. Fares are illustrative calculations based on published average labor costs. The receipt is commentary, not an invoice.

Removing it. Remove the guest from the event, or remove the participant from the call, at any time. To have receipt data deleted, email meter@themeetingmeter.com.

Standard fares are blended, averages per person.
Specialty fares are editorial.
